As a result of our efforts and thanks to the support of customers and shareholders, Soken was listed on the JASDAQ market in April 2001, refreshing our awareness of our responsibility to society.

Emphasizing and building on the wisdom of individual employees, we have concentrated on the development of unique chemical products and inimitable technologies, products and services to meet the diverse needs of our customers. Such a corporate culture encourages employees to tackle difficult jobs with pride and joy, and garners the support of all concerned parties. We believe by operating in this manner, we can live up to our social responsibilities.

On the basis of past achievements and with an eye toward future growth, in fiscal 2002 we have launched a new mid-term management program, "Attack10." Through this program we will emphasize "global business development," focusing primarily on Asia; promote effective coordination between our affiliates in each business base; and enhance our collective strength as a group, while allowing each company to make the most of its individual strengths with in the Group.

We anticipate that the steps implemented under "Attack10" will help us grow into an even more dynamic business group.
